Join Rachel Shane, Ph.D. from the Savannah College of Art and Design for a presentation and discussion of the intersection of art and law. Topics will include issues of copyright, trademark infringement, censorship, and fair use through the exploration of specific case studies." |

I Want to Pay a Million Dollars in Taxes This Year, 7pm
Robert Lewis, CPA Inactive, will lead a discussion on tax issues that artists may face. Topics covered will be filing taxes as employed, self-employed, or professional corporation LLC, as well as tips for reducing taxes for each situation. Lewis will address employer non-reimbursed expenses, self-employed expenses, and/or professional corporation LLC expenses.
At the height of the tax season, artists will gather together, retain relevant tax knowledge and tools for their own careers, and have the opportunity to ask questions specific to an artist's tax filing situation.
Robert Lewis graduated with a BSBA in Accounting in 1969 from Geneva College. He served as the principal in charge of the Mentor, OH CPA office from 1974 through December 2005 when he retired. He has been certified since January of 1969. |
