Potential Kill Fees
by Angelica Paige Ridley and Alma Elaine Shoaf
Art is not immune to homogenization. For some, it is difficult to escape the patterns that their creativity affords them. But for us both, it seems to have always been the opposite. Whether through subject matter, technique or style, we have a creative wanderlust that makes us difficult to strictly define in any one market or medium. While illustrators, we are naturally transitory between commercial image making, printmaking and painting, and both proudly ride the lines between all three; and then some. We see this inability to stay still in our creativity as a testament to our ever changing, ever growing viewpoints and interpretations of everything around us. Perhaps we will both resign to a income of kill fee after kill fee for it, but with this show, we hope to tell everyone that we'll not do it quietly.

You are Here?
by Karin Soderholm
The familiar indication, "you are here", helps us to orient and find our place in the language of maps. In these stitched maps, one map relates to another and begins a dialog, a conversation between place and person. The clothing remnants reinforce the personal association with each place and the mending stitches join the bits and parts to repair and reconnect.
Opening Reception June 26, 6-9 pm.
